The Engine Collision Festival is an intimate, 11 day celebration of fringe artists from all over the world. Taking place in Los Angeles, this eclectic program of Cinema, performance and Multimedia dynamically presents - the current state of ‘Genre’, the influence of past, and the vision of future.
Among Engine Collision Fest headliners:
David Lynch will be screening a selection of unavailable short works.
Metalocaplyse will be premier their second season from Adult Swim.
Slamdance Film fest has put together a night of their 2009 winners.
Cory McAbee is screening “The American Astronaut”.
Cherry Vanilla will read from her autobiography.
Shannyn Sossamon will reveal her experimental video project, “Maudegone”.
And many more accomplished headliners.
Everything will be projected onto a 2000 pound sculpture of made out oxidized steel called, "The Engine" amidst the breathtaking installation art of world renown artists Sonik Mercury and Kofie One.

Fuel Documentary
opens in select theaters Friday 13th

Lovers & Strangers 2nd Annual
Frank Venadas and Scarlett Casanova are hosting this event, which will sure garner a list of who's who among southern California hipsters. Kids in tight pants, eclectic dress and vibrant color patterns will be seen mysteriously parked in dark corners and walking the street headed for a night of music, live bands, art and booze. This event will end late, so the crowd will push in after midnight. What draws me to an event hosted by Venadas is his floor plan, able to separate the art from the speakers, which creates two worlds displaying appreciation for both art and music in new downtown locations. With the line-up, it'll sure be an interesting event.

The space includes Alife, UrbanOutfitters, a snack bar, different boutiques and an art space all centered around an outdoor courtyard that displays performance artists, musicians and djs.

Presented by Crewest, representing underground, known and unknown artists predominantly on the West coast. The event runs until March 1st. Here is a look at a rainy crowded opening night.
Venus Jupiter & the Moon
December 1st, 2008. Yes, a couple months late! But Venus, Jupiter and the Moon graced the night sky. They lined up next to one another and were the closest to Earth's proximity in a long time. Next one comes around in 2013.
